About Bad Kitty Glass

Bad Kitty Glass is owned and operated by Teresa Soito in Oakland, California.

Teresa began working in glass in 2001 when she was introduced to the art of lampworking at the UCSD Crafts Center in La Jolla, California.

Exposed to painting and photography by her artist father Vern Soito, Teresa has experimented in both mediums. In between academic classes at UC Berkeley she found time to study photography and darkroom techniques. Other creative outlets include cake decorating and design as well as clothing design and fabrication.

Jewelry design has always been in Teresa’s repertoire. She jumped at the opportunity to incorporate lampworking into the process and fell in love with glass. In addition to her studies at the Crafts Center, she has studied lampworking under Joyce Rooks and Loren Stump.

Lampworking has allowed Teresa to fulfill her dream of creating jewelry pieces using elements of her own design. She is thrilled about the opportunity to make these unique creations available to all through Bad Kitty Glass.

Teresa is a former instructor at the Crafts Center. She is a member of the Glass Art Society.
